Michigan State transfer long snapper Hank Pepper commits to USC
Transfer long snapper Hank Pepper committed to play at USC, he announced on social media on Wednesday. Pepper will transfer to the Trojans from Michigan State.
Pepper will have multiple years of eligibility remaining after starting as a true freshman, playing in five games in 2022 due to injury and only appearing in four in 2023 after head coach Mel Tucker was fired. He is of no relation to former MSU long snapper Taybor Pepper. Pepper played in 22 total games in East Lansing, registering nine special teams tackles on top of his role delivering the ball for kicks on special teams.
“Forever grateful to state… excited for my next chapter,” Pepper wrote on social media.
Pepper played high school football at Chandler (Az.) High School, where he was a three-star prospect, not entirely indicative for such a specialized position. He was the No. 2030 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
