Miller Moss explains why it's 'highly coveted' to play for Lincoln Riley, USC
Miller Moss didn’t even think about transferring out of USC due to his situation with head coach Lincoln Riley.
The Trojans’ quarterback is in the “coveted” position of learning from Riley and staff and developing as a passer. Following in the footsteps of Caleb Williams, those are big shoes to fill.
But Moss wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I think when you look at obviously having the opportunity to play for Coach Riley as a quarterback is something that’s highly coveted,” Moss said on Sirius XM. “And being in the room with him, I completely understand why he’s the best, one of the best, if not the best, offensive mind and quarterback coach in college football.
“And so I think having the opportunity to play for him, I think when I committed to USC, I laid out certain goals that I really wanted to accomplish, not only for myself, but for the team, and I wanted to be able to see that through until I couldn’t anymore.”
Miller Moss loves playing for Lincoln Riley
Moss went off in the Holiday Bowl last year, a win over Louisville. Overall, through three seasons of mostly mop up duty, Moss is 66-of-92 passing for 914 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception.

Now, it’s time for Moss to take the next step.
“We had Kliff Kingsbury in the room last year, who was instrumental in my development, and also the relationships I have throughout that locker room,” Moss said. “I truly, like, truly love those guys, truly care about those guys, and I want us to see us accomplish our goals that we set out early on.”
It became pretty clear last December that Moss was ready to step up for this USC team. Coaches and players offered very positive reviews regarding his leadership.
“I think the biggest thing for me is trying to be whoever this team needs me to be to put us in the position to have success,” Moss said. “We had certain shortcomings the year before and I think those areas need to be addressed, and I try my best. But we also have a great supporting cast of leadership …
“I don’t think that responsibility solely falls on my shoulders. I think, yes, I’m a big part of that, and I want to be a big part of that. But I think there’s a general, great supporting cast of leadership on this team that we can all rely on.”
