Mississippi State CB transfer DeCarlos Nicholson commits to USC

Former Mississippi State cornerback DeCarlos Nicholson has announced his commitment to USC. Before his lone season with the Bulldogs, he was regarded as one of the top JUCO prospects in the country.

In 2023, Nicholson logged 42 tackles, 2.0 tackles for a loss, and two pass breakups in what was a breakout season. He will have one year of eligibility remaining to play under Lincoln Riley in Los Angeles.

He was previously committed to Kentucky before flipping to MSU last year. He took another visit to Lexington earlier this month, but it seems to Trojans have earned the rights to his services.

Prior to enrolling at Mississippi State, Nicholson was one of the top-rated JUCO prospects in the 2022 class. He was rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 9 JUCO player in the nation. He also ranked as the No. 3 cornerback in the class. Nicholson was also rated as the No. 4 overall player from the state of Mississippi, coming out of Petal (MS) High School.
