Why Vince Iwuchukwu is special
Back to the Basket & Face Up Game
Vince Iwuchukwu gets to the basket with ease using his back to the basket moves in high school. At the next level, Iwuchukwu’s dominance will require many teams in the Pac-12 to send a double team. Since Iwuchukwu can effectively face up to the basket and attack double-teams head-on, he will also find the open man, a massive benefit for the Trojans. Players need to have countermoves in college because scouting often takes away a player’s first move. Iwuchukwu has various tricks in his bag that allow him to score with the left or right hand.
Relentless rim runner
At 7-feet-tall, Vince Iwuchukwu can run from rim to rim just as fast as a point guard. When there is a steal or a block on the defensive end, he takes the first opportunity to run to the opposite end a make plays. In the last few years, Enfield has run a fast-paced offense that will allow Iwuchukwu to thrive.

Power finisher
Vince Iwuchukwu is a solid big that can dunk on multiple defenders at once. He finishes through contact, and most of the fouls he receives around the rim result in and ones. With a huge wingspan, Iwuchukwu can stretch over defenders and finish through with strength and power to demoralize any Pac-12 defender.
Iwuchukwu NBA comparison
Evan Mobley was the third pick in the NBA 2021 draft out of USC, and it seems that the Trojans have an excellent replacement for their superstar big man. Mobley and Iwuchukwu are the same height and the same weight, give or take five pounds. Both players are game changers defensively, able to guard 1-5 positions on a switch. As a freshman, Mobley was able to lead the Trojans to the Elite Eight. Iwuchukwu has big shoes to fill, but the Trojans will be counting on him.
