Purdue transfer offensive lineman DJ Wingfield has committed and signed with the USC Trojans out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

The 6-foot-4, 320-pound Wingfield will have one season of eligibility remaining after taking advantage of the NCAA waiver for players that have at least one season at a non-NCAA program, after spending his first two years (2020-21) of college at El Camino Junior College, where he played 22 games.

Wingfield then transferred to New Mexico as a true junior but only appeared in one game before suffering a season-ending injury. After redshirting, Wingfield played in nine games with the Lobos as a redshirt junior before transferring to Purdue on Dec. 10, 2023 ahead of the 2024 season.

Wingfield, who had previously announced intentions to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, is a three-star prospect in the 2025 transfer class, according to On3’s Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Wingfield started all 11 games this past season at right guard for Purdue, and will bring needed experience to a USC offensive line that has taken a hit this offseason, with Emmanuel Pregnon entering the portal Friday. The Trojans are also set to lose starting center Jonah Monheim to the NFL Draft and starting right tackle Mason Murphy to the transfer portal. With only two starting offensive linemen expected to return next season, USC will have plenty of roster holes to fill this offseason.

USC OL Emmanuel Pregnon enters NCAA Transfer Portal

USC offensive lineman Emmanuel Pregnon has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. Pregnon spent two seasons at USC after beginning his collegiate career at Wyoming.

Pregnon played in all 13 of the Trojans’ games this season. He finished with USC’s highest PFF overall grade on offense and as a pass blocker. For his efforts, he was named a 2024 All-Big Ten Second Team selection.

The transfer portal officially opened on Dec. 7 and closed on Dec. 28, though players on teams still playing in the postseason will get an additional five-day window to enter the portal after their seasons end.
