Top 100 Tackett Curtis commits to USC
Four-star linebacker Tackett Curtis of Many (LA) High announced his commitment to USC Monday afternoon.
The 6-foot-3, 220 pounder chose the Trojans over Ohio State and Wisconsin.
Curtis on why he chose USC
“What stood out about USC for me is a combination of three things,” Curtis said. “I love the staff, the scheme, and I can see myself growing and getting developed to the best of my ability there. I also love that there is a lot of energy behind USC right now and everyone wants them to succeed. Everything that’s happened to USC recently has been set up so that they will be great again.”
“I would love to be a part of the team that puts USC back on top of college football and build my legacy with that team and staff. It’s an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up and the program checks all of the boxes. If I was to go anywhere else I would have always wondered what I could have been if I would have gone and played for USC. Now that I am going to play for USC, I won’t look back on anything because I know it’s the perfect fit for me.”
From LA (Louisiana) to LA (Los Angeles)
“I think it will be extremely beneficial to the development of me as a person and an experience not many get to have,” Curtis said. “I’ve always grown up in a small town so emerging myself into a place like LA will only grow me as a person. I think it is a good fit for me. LA is a dream destination for many so I’m really excited about it.”
USC’s plan for Tackett Curtis
“They want me to play mike and be in the middle of their defense,” Curtis said. “ They want me commanding the calls and being the guy. The staff and I know it’s a great scheme to fit my abilities perfectly!”
