Lincolnton (N.C.) Combine Academy four-star recruit Silas Demary Jr. tells On3 he’s committed to USC.

Demary, a 6-foot-5 class of 2023 point guard, ultimately chose the Trojans over NC State, VCU, and St. John’s. He also received offers from Alabama, Wake Forest, Tennessee, and others.

He is USC’s first addition to the 2023 class. USC is also targeting five-star guard Isaiah Collier, four-star big man Arrinten Page, and others.

Demary is the No. 70 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 15 point guard and the No. 3 player in the state of North Carolina.

Demary on his commitment to USC

“I chose USC because they are known for solid academics and ultimately they put guys in the NBA,” Demary said to On3. “They’re a winning program and I have a chance to play and earn minutes right away. Most importantly, they have that family atmosphere.”

What type of player is USC getting in Silas Demary Jr.?

“An unselfish guy and a hard worker that is willing to do anything for his coaches and teammates and a winner,” he says.

Demary has a message for USC fans.

“I can’t wait to get out there and get to work! I want to win a whole lot of games and prepare for a National Championship run! Go Trojans!”

Scouting Summary

Demary is a high-level defender, both on and off the ball. Great length. Excellent anticipation. Really competes at a high level. A combo guard on offense. Not a paint touch PG, but he can get you into sets. He is an aggressive downhill scorer. Great in transition. Solid athlete. Like to see continue to tighten the jump shot. State champion. UAA champion. – On3’s Jamie Shaw, National Recruiting Analyst
