USC beats Texas A&M for Baltimore 2023 3-star DL Sam Greene
Baltimore St. Francis Academy defensive lineman Sam Greene has committed to USC.
The 6-foot-2, 260-pound three-star committed to the Trojans over Boston College, Penn State and Texas A&M. Greene committed to the Pac-12 program without ever taking a visit to the campus in L.A.
“It was my dream school,” Greene told On3. “As soon as I talked to coach Shaun Nua and got the offer, I made my decision. I put a lot of thought into it, and Texas A&M was up there too, but USC is where I want to be.”
Committing without ever stepping foot on campus may surprise some. Greene is confident in his decision and he is excited about the future at USC.
“I have not been to USC, but I just feel comfortable,” Greene said. “Guys before me, like Caleb Williams and Jordan Addison, have gone across the country, so I feel good about following in their footsteps. It is exciting to think about that life in L.A. at USC.

“USC has a great history and I really like the culture. They won a lot of games in the past and they are rising back to the top. I want to be a part of that.”
Nua got the news from Greene a couple of weeks ago. The two connected immediately and their relationship is growing daily.
“I can’t wait to get out there and spend some time with coach Nua,” Greene said. “What we have just happened naturally. He is a great coach that wants the best for me. He wants to be at USC. I want to be at USC. We are going to do great things at USC together.”
Greene plans to take his first visit to USC on Oct. 1 for the Arizona State game. He is the No. 696 overall prospect and No. 75 defensive lineman in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Greene is also the No. 12 player in Maryland.
