On the offensive side of the ball, there are few bigger prospects remaining on the board than Seattle (Wash.) Rainier Beach offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr.

The 6-foot-5, 283-pounder is the No. 22 overall prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 3 offensive tackle and sits behind only five-star offensive lineman Devon Campbell on the list of uncommitted offensive prospects.

This past weekend, Conerly took an official visit to Oklahoma, and last night, he had a pair of visitors from the West Coast. USC head coach Lincoln Riley, along with offensive line coach Josh Henson, stopped in Seattle for an in-home visit.

USC remains in the thick of it for Josh Conerly Jr.

The Trojans are one of six schools still in contention to land him, joining Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon and Washington. He has only taken official visits to Washington — earlier this fall — and Oklahoma. Because of how busy January will be for him, Conerly isn’t expected to sign in February when the second signing period opens. He is playing in this weekend’s Polynesian All-American Bowl in Hawaii, and will wait until March to take his final two official visits after the recruiting dead period.

Conerly told On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons that he will visit Miami when he returns from Hawaii. He then will visit USC and either Oregon or Washington in March before making a final decision.

“My decision will be in March,” Conerly said. “I will take my final two official visits, then make my decision.”

Conerly took unofficial visits to USC in July and September. And he has kept the Trojans as a potential option amidst the coaching change from Clay Helton to Riley.

Now, the Trojans’ first-year coach will look to carry over the relationships he built at Oklahoma and keep one of the country’s most dominant offensive lineman on the West Coast.

Five-star Seattle (Wash.) Rainier Beach tackle Josh Conerly Jr. is USC’s biggest remaining 2022 target, and Lincoln Riley visited him last night.
