USC DL Solomon Tuliaupupu enters the NCAA Transfer Portal

USC DL Solomon Tuliaupupu has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal per On3’s Pete Nakos. The news came early on Thursday morning.

Tuliaupupu spent the past seven seasons with the Trojans as a redshirt senior. He redshirted as a true freshman and then received a medical redshirt the year after with him having had surgery on his foot. He then missed all of the two seasons after that with a knee injury and the recovery of that.

With that, Tuliaupupu appeared in games in just a pair of his seven seasons in total. He has played in 22 in total where he has posted 23 tackles, four for loss, and 3.5 sacks with a fumble recovery as well. He had a career-high of 13 tackles and the lone recovery this past season to go with a sack.

Tuliaupupu, a Santa Ana native, played high school football at Mater Dei. He was the No. 93 overall prospect there as a four-star prospect in the 2018 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as the No. 10 LB and player out of California in that class. That made him the eighth highest-rated player in that class for ‘SC which finished at No. 4 in On3’s Industry Team Recruiting Rankings under Clay Helton.

Now, Tuliaupupu is the 22nd departure in the portal during this offseason for USC. Of those players, 19 have since committed elsewhere, including five players in the Top-100 of On3’s 2025 Top Transfer Portal Players in WR Zachariah Branch (Georgia), WR Duce Robinson (Florida State), IOL Emmanuel Pregnon (Oregon), QB Miller Moss (Louisville), and RB Quinten Joyner (Texas Tech).

The Trojans, in turn, added 11 players during the last cycle in the NCAA Transfer Portal. Those pickups include a pair of defensive linemen from the SEC in Keeshawn Silver (Kentucky), their highest-rated one of the group, and Jamaal Jarrett (Georgia).
