USC extends offer to 2022 Mater Dei kicker Chase Meyer
USC extended an offer Sunday to Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei kicker Chase Meyer.
Meyer is one of the best kickers in California and is rated by Chris Sailer Kicking as a five-star kicker out of six possible stars.
“Chase is a very talented high school kicking prospect,” reads the Chris Sailer Kicking scouting report on Meyer. “He is a great looking athlete with an exceptional leg. Chase does an outstanding job on field goal. He gets the ball up well off the ground and easily has 55+ yard range. His kickoffs are strong. He averages 65+ yards, with 4.0+ hang time. He is a competitor that thrives under pressure.”
He also has received offers from Air Force, Nevada and UNLV. He plans on studying mechanical engineering in college.
The Trojans have three kickers currently on their roster: redshirt junior Alex Stadthaus, sophomore Parker Lewis and freshman Denis Lynch.

Lewis is the main kicker for USC, doing both kickoffs and field goals. He is 10 of 11 on the season on field goals with a long of 49 yards in his second year as the start. He is also perfect on PATs.
Playing for a dominant Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei ranked No. 1 in the country, Meyer does not get many chances for field goals because the offense is usually finding the end zone. But he is 2-for-2 on the season and has hit all 32 PATs he has attempted.
