USC football drops hype video ahead of matchup vs. Arizona State
The USC Trojans have steamrolled their competition through their first three games, as expected. They now sit at 3-0 on the year and will look to make it four straight against the Arizona State Sun Devils. Last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, Caleb Williams, has been as advertised early and the Trojans have continued to make easy work of their opponents.
Check out the hype video USC dropped on Friday night ahead of their matchup with the Sun Devils.
Williams put together a near flawless performance against Stanford, completing 19 of 21 passes for 281 yards, while tossing three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also had a 21-yard touchdown run in the 56-10 beatdown of the Cardinal.
USC running back MarShawn Lloyd had nine rushing attempts for 77 yards and a touchdown against Stanford. Backup quarterback Miller Moss completed 11 of 15 passes for 112 yards after the game was well in hand. Jerry Rice’s son, Brenden Rice, hauled in a 75-yard touchdown catch.
USC got a nice performance from five-star freshman receiver Duce Robinson. He hauled in four catches for 71 receiving yards.
USC has two of the biggest superstars in college football
Thus far into the 2023 campaign, Caleb Williams is looking like he could easily bring home back-to-back Heisman Trophies. He’s completed 78.5% of his passes for 878 yards, while tossing 12 touchdowns and no interceptions. As a runner, he’s ran 12 times for 61 yards and a touchdown. His numbers from this year are even a little bit better than they were at this point in time last year.
The USC superstar currently sits at the top spot for four of five of the analysts in On3’s Heisman Hot Board Rankings for Week 4.
Former five-star prospect Zachariah Branch has shown everybody exactly why he was so highly rated coming out of high school. The electrifying superstar has been nothing short of breathtaking in his first few games.

Quite frankly, it’s amazing that coaches still kick the ball to the USC star freshman.
When they have, he’s made them pay dearly for it. As a kick returner, he’s had three kick returns for 125 yards, with one of those being a 96-yard touchdown return. He’s averaging just over 41 yards per return. As a punt returner, he’s had three kick returns for 158 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was a 75-yard return.
In his college football debut against San Jose State, Branch managed to rack up over 232 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, one of those was a receiving touchdown and the other was a kick return for touchdown. The USC star became the first Trojan with a receiving touchdown and a kick return for touchdown in the same game since Adoree Jackson did it in 2016.
The USC Trojans and Arizona State Sun Devils will face off on Saturday, Sept. 23rd, in what’s a loaded slate of games across the country. That one will kickoff at 10:30 PM EST. The game will be nationally televised on FOX.
The Trojans also have a highly anticipated showdown coming up with Colorado. That one is coming up on Saturday, Sept. 30th.
