USC forward Brandon Gardner enters the NCAA transfer portal
After just one year, USC forward Brandon Gardner is looking for a new home, entering the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
Gardner played in just one game for USC this season, seeing four minutes and scoring on his only field goal attempt of the game. He finished the season with two points.
Though Gardner didn’t have much of an impact in his lone season with Andy Enfield and the Trojans, he’s a highly coveted former four-star prospect. Checking in at 6 foot 8, 215 pounds, he’s got good size and length.
Prior to enrolling at USC, Brandon Gardner was a four-star prospect and the No. 109 overall recruit in the 2023 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
He also checked in as the No. 18 power forward in the class and the No. 4 overall player in the state of New York, hailing from Raleigh (NC) Christ The King Regional.
Another USC transfer picks his destination
Former USC center Vince Iwuchukwu has made his decision after entering the NCAA transfer portal, committing to to St. John’s on Tuesday according to a post from his Instagram account.

Iwuchukwu joins forces with head coach Rick Pitino and the Red Storm after spending two seasons with the Trojans. Parting ways with the program following the departure of head coach Andy Enfield who recently became SMU’s new head coach after 11 seasons with USC.
The former highly touted high school prospect appeared in 45 games during his college career with 16 starts. Averaging 5.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in his 15.1 minutes per game.
Iwuchukwu suffered from a sudden cardiac arrest during a workout in his first summer with the Trojans, leading to him missing the first 16 games of his freshman season with the Trojans before making his collegiate debut against Colorado on January 12, 2023. Eventually scoring a career-high 19 points against Oregon State a month later but would miss the final three games of the season after undergoing a lumbar discectomy.
Last season, Iwuchukwu started in 11 of his 31 game appearances where he averaged 5.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, scoring in double figures five times. Ending his USC career with 245 total points and 33 blocks as he begins his next chapter on the east coast.
