USC guard Isaiah Elohim enters NCAA transfer portal

USC guard Isaiah Elohim has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos confirms. Elohim played in 18 games for the Trojans during his true freshman season.
Elohim was originally signed to play for Eric Musselman at Arkansas, and followed the head coach to LA after taking the job with the Trojans last offseason. He averaged 2.1 points per game as a freshman, making one start in those 18 appearances.
The 6-foot-5 freshman out of Sierra Canyon (CA) was highly recruited coming out of high school. He ranked No. 47 overall in the 2024 cycle. He also ranked as the No. 11 shooting guard prospect and the No. 7 player in the state of California, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, which is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
His most impressive outing during his true freshman season came on Feb. 7 when the Trojans traveled to Purdue. In 15 minutes on the court, he scored 11 points on 4 of 4 shooting to go with two rebounds and a steal.
However, his freshman season at USC was not indicative of the stellar career he had at the high school level. Before transferring to Sierra Canyon, he played his eighth and ninth-grade years at Heritage Christian High School in Northridge, where he averaged 20.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.9 steals as a freshman, according to his On3 profile.

That year, he also led the 15U division in scoring as a freshman after averaging 28.5 points at the Nike Peach Jam while playing for Paul George Elite. He later transferred to Sierra Canyon and teamed up with the likes of Bronny James before making the move to USC.
“I’m a combo guard,” Elohim told On3’s Joe Tipton during his initial recruitment. “I can really pass and score. I can play defense as well, so I’m just trying to be really well-rounded. I would say my strength is definitely my mid-range game, I can get there anytime I want.
I can create for myself, as well as create for others. What I need to work on is extending my range and becoming more consistent on the 3-point line.”
