USC lands a commitment from top-50 RB Bryan Jackson
Bryan Jackson has his sights set on one school.
Jackson, the On3 Industry Ranking top-50 running back out of McKinney (Texas) High School north of Dallas, committed to USC over Tennessee on Friday evening. Texas, Baylor and also Oklahoma were also heavily in the mix for Jackson, a three-star playmaker who has made several visits out to the West Coast dating back to last spring and summer, then was on hand in the Coliseum when USC knocked off California last fall.
Midway through the spring, Jackson’s mind was already made up. Trojans running backs coach Kiel McDonald helped put Southern Cal on top.
“Me and Coach Mac have a great relationship off the field,” Jackson told On3. “He was my first offer in the eighth grade by Utah, so he has been with me every step of the way on this recruiting journey.”
That journey is leading Jackson from McKinney, Texas to Hollywood.
Jackson loves his fit in Lincoln Riley’s offense
McDonald worked alongside head coach Lincoln Riley to help scoop Jackson out of the Lone Star State.
USC’s offense is an eye-catcher for offensive skill players. With McDonald leading the way, the fit in Los Angeles made sense for Jackson.
“Coach Riley and Coach Mac both played a huge role in my recruitment,” he started. “I believe that Coach Riley is the best offensive-minded coach in college football and who wouldn’t want to play for that guy?”

“Coach Mac has been putting backs in the league for a minute now and all of his guys in the NFL are built like me and physical and use their gifts to the best of their ability,” Jackson added.
The USC coaches not only caught the attention of Jackson with the offensive fireworks but their personal touch. McDonald has been courting the prolific back since he was an underclassman at McKinney (Texas) High School and has won over members of his family in the process.
“They both have been recruiting me for a long time now,” Jackson said of the Trojans’ coaches. “They just communicate very well with my parents and that played a huge factor. I love the staff there and everyone is so chill with each other. There are great men on the staff and I would definitely love to play for those dudes sometime soon.”
Jackson will return to Southern Cal in June for his official visit.
He checks in as the No. 47 running back according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
