USC LB Mason Cobb announces decision to return to Trojans for 2024
USC linebacker Mason Cobb announced that he’s coming back to the Trojans for one more season of college football. He announced the move in a video on his Twitter page on Friday evening.
Last year with the Trojans, Cobb racked up 85 tackles and one pass deflection.
Cobb burst onto the scene with an eye-watering single-season stat line in 2022 while at Oklahoma State. In 12 games, he had 96 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, two sacks, an interception and a forced fumble. He was named to the All-Big 12 second team after he led the Pokes in tackles and tackles for loss. His 13 tackles for loss were the second-most in the Big 12 Conference.
HIs freshman season with Oklahoma State, he appeared in the final five games of the 2020 campaign, playing primarily on special teams. He tallied two tackles, one against Baylor and one against Miami in the Cheez-It Bowl.
As a senior in high school, Cobb helped lead Provo High School (Provo, Utah) to a regional championship and a quarterfinal appearance in the state playoffs. He racked up 118 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, three sacks, three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. Cobb was ranked as the No. 1153 player in the nation in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
Mason Cobb decides to return to USC for one more year, more on the 2024 NFL Draft
The 2024 NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Michigan, with the first round on Thursday, April 25, the second and third rounds on Friday, April 26, and the fourth through seventh rounds on Saturday, April 27.

Players will have the opportunity to solidify their draft stock at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana from February 26 through March 4.
The three-day event will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on ESPN and NFL Network.
To be eligible for the NFL Draft, players must be at least three years removed from their final year of high school while having used up their collegiate eligibility. Underclassmen are able to request league approval to become eligible for the draft, as are players who have graduated prior to using up all of their collegiate eligibility.
Last season, 69 players were granted special eligibility for the 2023 NFL Draft. 13 underclassmen who had completed their college degrees were also deemed eligible to be selected.
The deadline to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft is on January 15. NFL teams will receive a full list of eligible players in the class on January 19.
