USC offensive lineman Mason Murphy enters NCAA Transfer Portal

USC Trojans offensive lineman Mason Murphy has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned.

Murphy played high school football at JSerra Catholic (CA), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 507 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

As a recruit, Murphy held offers from a number of big brand programs, such as Michigan, Washington and Utah. It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up after joining the transfer portal.

In other USC related news pertaining to the transfer portal, Trojans running back Quinten Joyner plans to enter, accordingto On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Quinten Joyner played his high school football at Manor in Texas. There, he was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2023. He was also the 13th-ranked running back and the 193rd-ranked player overall in that recruiting cycle.

Over the course of two seasons with the USC Trojans, Quinten Joyner has appeared in 18 games and has 603 rushing yards for four touchdowns. That’s on an average of 7.4 yards per carry. He also has 13 receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown. 

In 2024, Joyner averaged 7.6 yards per carry, which led the Big Ten in that category. He did that on 63 carries total and averaged 39.8 yards per game.
