USC offers 4-star S Isaac Smith

Fulton (Miss.) Itawamba Agricultural four-star safety Isaac Smith received an offer from USC on Sunday. He announced the news on social media.

Smith is the No. 186 overall prospect and No. 12 safety in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Mississippi.

The 6-foot-1, 190 pound prospect has received 23 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting prediction Machine, it is a close race for Smith’s commitment. Texas A&M is currently leading for his pledge at 32.1%, while Vanderbilt has the next-best odds at 21.3%. Mississippi State has the third-highest chance at 12.3%, while Ole Miss‘ odds for Smith’s commitment are 10.3%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

USC’s 2023 recruiting class currently contains one safety in Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) three-star Christian Pierce, the No. 449 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. The Trojans’ group ranks No. 13 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 2 in the Pac-12.

Smith has an On3 NIL Valuation of $15.5K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
