USC WR Duce Robinson plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
USC pass catcher Duce Robinson plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Robinson is a former five-star recruit from the 2023 class and a two-sport athlete who also played baseball for the Trojans during the 2024 season.
The 6 foot 6, 220-pound receiver caught 23 passes for 396 yards and five touchdowns during the regular season. He most recently hauled in three receptions for 63 yards against Notre Dame in Week 14.
As a baseball player at USC, Robinson played in four games and got two starts. He had a batting average of .167 with a .333 slugging percentage.
The former five-star recruit was the 23rd overall recruit in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was recruited as a tight end, per his On3 recruiting page, and was the top TE recruit in the nation.
Before the current season began, Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley opened up on Robinson’s unique true freshman season in 2023-24 balancing both football and baseball.

“I thought he handled it pretty well,” Lincoln Riley said. There were definitely some challenges just built in this year just being the first year and obviously baseball’s had to move around a little bit with their stadium under construction. But I thought the baseball coaches, Coach Stank [Andy Stankiewicz] and all those guys, did a great job. Strength coaches did a great job.”
USC finished the regular season with a dissapointing 6-6 season, but was still able to qualify for a bowl game thanks to its 19-13 win over rival UCLA during Week 13. Robinson will likely not be with the team for that postseason matchup.
Riley made a change at quarterback for the final three weeks of the season, benching Miller Moss in favor of transfer Jayden Maiava. Robinson totaled eight catches for 167 yards and a touchdown over that stretch.
