Zachariah Branch

Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Zachariah Branch is one of the top players in the 2023 cycle. The USC commit is the No. 4 overall prospect and No. 1 wide receiver in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The 5-foot-10, 176 pound wideout made an impressive play Friday in the Gaels’ matchup against Corner Canyon. He caught a short pass, cut right and raced diagonally across the field until he was forced out of bounds by a defender.

Branch committed to the Trojans on Dec. 24, 2021. He is the second-highest-ranked prospect in USC’s 2023 recruiting class behind Los Alamitos (Calif.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Malachi Nelson, the No. 2 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

Branch has an On3 NIL Valuation of $419K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Branch flourished at the Under Armour Future 50 event

Earlier this summer, some of the nation’s top prospects gathered in Florida for the Under Armour Future 50. Branch was one player who stood out.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power was impressed with Branch’s performance. He gave the wide receiver On3 MVP honors for the event, as a result.

“Zachariah Branch was an easy choice for On3 MVP honors at Under Armour Future 50,” Power wrote. The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder was the most electric offensive skill player on hand by a wide margin. Branch was constantly open in both 1-on-1’s and 7-on-7 play and served up the biggest individual moments of the event. We saw him win deep in 1-on-1’s on multiple occasions. The USC commit followed that up with what was likely the most impressive individual play of the afternoon session. Branch separated on a deep crossing route and brought in a one-handed catch without breaking stride en route to a long touchdown.

“Branch kept defensive backs, including blue-chip corners, out of phase all day. His combination of verified elite long speed, cat-quick change of direction and plus ball skills result in a truly dynamic target who can win at all levels of the field. The Las Vegas Bishop Gorman standout entered Future 50 as On3’s top-ranked wide receiver in the 2023 cycle and more than looked the part.”
