USF trending for several top targets coming out of monster recruiting weekend
The USF staff has been working hard on the 2025 recruiting class, and their efforts are paying off. Five of the Bulls’ 13 commitments in the cycle have come in the month of June, and from what sources tell On3, Alex Golesh and Co. are looking to add a handful more commits in the coming days and weeks.
USF got good news Saturday night when it landed a pledge from Perry (Ga.) High wide receiver Kory Pettigrew, who took a midweek official visit. He picked the Bulls over Georgia Southern, Marshall, Memphis, Florida Atlantic and others.
Five of the 18 prospects who officially visited USF over the weekend were already pledged to the Bulls coming into the trip, which includes St. Augustine (Fla.) High quarterback Locklan Hewlett. The three-star prospect had his recruiting hat on, working on the prospects to join him at the next level in Tampa.
“The highlight of the weekend was seeing how big time USF is now,” Hewlett told On3. “It’s a big-time program, and people are finally starting to see it. The recruits loved the photoshoot; it was absolutely insane.
“Everything went amazing with our targets. The next couple weeks of announcements is going to be elite, and people will see USF isn’t playing this time around. This 2025 USF class is just absolutely loaded with talent.”
Intel coming out of the weekend
Oakdale (Conn.) St. Thomas More linebacker Dillano Glaud announces his commitment on Monday with a final three schools list of James Madison, Liberty and USF. The Bulls are in a solid spot following his official visit, and it’s good for USF’s chances that they got the last visit, but it’s a close call for Glaud between his final schools. Glaud is very high on the Flames.
USF has two receivers committed and is looking to take a couple more. The Bulls made positive moves with in-state pass catchers Christian Neptune from Cantonment (Fla.) Tate and Carl Jenkins Jr. out of St. Augustine (Fla.) High.

The Bulls look to be in really good shape with Neptune following his official. Stanford is the other big contender in his recruitment, and he holds offers from the likes of Minnesota, Washington and Mississippi State as well.
Jenkins will announce a commitment June 29 and is down to UCF, Louisville, USF and Mississippi State. It’s a close battle for the Rivals four-star player, but the Bulls bettered their chances after his official visit. His high school teammate is Hewlett, which is a positive factor for USF in Jenkins’ recruitment.
I liked where the Bulls stood for Rolesville (N.C.) High EDGE Jayden Fry going into the visit, and coming out of it, that feeling remains strong. Troy and Georgia State are two other programs in the mix for him, but USF should be considered the team to beat.
Sandy Springs (Ga.) Riverwood’s Sean Poret is one of the hottest offensive tackle prospects on the market, as he’s picked up offers from Vanderbilt, Duke, Boston College and Florida State this month. USF has done very well in this recruitment, and sources indicate that the Bulls have put itself in a really good spot after this weekend’s visit.
That’s the latest on several of the official visitors for this weekend. The USF On3 channel will have more coverage.
