USF players get into physical altercation, punch thrown on sideline during 3rd quarter vs. UAB
Things boiled over on the USF sideline today as the Bulls trailed UAB, 19-7, early in the third quarter. And it culminated with one player throwing a punch at one of his teammates.
It’s unclear what, specifically, preceded the altercation, but freshman defensive lineman Dinellson Exume was evidently upset about something. Fellow defenders Jamie Pettway and Michael Williams II appear to try to intervene and calm the freshman.
Then Exume and Pettway grab hold of each other and lock out their arms. As a few other teammates crowd around, after a few seconds of standing at arms length, Exume tries to punch Pettway with his right fist.
From there, the two were separated and Exume was walked away from the rest of the team by a teammate, with several signaling as if he should go back to the locker room.
Exume has one sack and 1.5 tackles for loss on the season. It’s unclear what punishment Exume and perhaps others will face, though some sort of internal discipline is a near guarantee after such a display on the sidelines among players who are, in theory, on the same side.

A confrontation in the stands at Tennessee involved a star player’s parent
It was not a pretty scene on the field for Alabama for much of the game on Saturday, an eventual 24-17 loss to Tennessee. And there were some ugly scenes off it, including one involving Jalen Milroe’s father, Quentin Milroe.
While in the stands at Neyland Stadium, evidently some Tennessee fans said something that riled up the elder Milroe. In a short clip shown on social media, he can be heard delivering a few expletives before walking away from the ordeal.
“I don’t care who you are, that’s my son,” Quentin Milroe appeared to say before finishing his message. “F*** you and her.”
Jalen Milroe finished Saturday’s game 25-for-45 passing with 239 yards and a touchdown, and two interceptions, including on that sealed the win for Tennessee late.
