Four-star New Caney (Texas) cornerback CJ Blocker has decommitted from Utah, he announced on Wednesday morning.

The 5-foot-10, 160-pounder had been committed to the Utes since June, but has received an uptick in interest from a number of schools after a strong senior season.

Kentucky, Florida State, USC, Michigan State, Alabama, Texas A&M and Texas are among the schools in pursuit of Blocker, with the Trojans, Wildcats, Seminoles and Spartans already extending offers to him.

“First, I would like to thank Utah coaches and staff for believing in my talent and building a relationship with me,” he wrote on Twitter. I am grateful to be granted an opportunity to be a student athlete at Utah, and be able to be a part of the Ute family. At this time, after much thought and prayer…I will be decommitting From The University of Utah and reopening my recruitment. Utah will remain a top school in my recruitment.”
