4-star Miami linebacker commit Justin Medlock offered by Utah

Manvel (Texas) linebacker Justin Medlock has been committed to Miami since July, but that hasn’t stopped other schools from pursuing him.
The latest program to enter the fray for the four-star linebacker is Utah, which extended an offer on Wednesday. Medlock is the No. 393 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the country’s No. 41 linebacker and the No. 56 prospect in Texas.

Medlock picked the Hurricanes this summer over offers from Oklahoma, Minnesota, Colorado and others. His only official visit was to Miami this summer, and he visited Coral Gables again this fall.
And while there doesn’t appear to be any uncertainty around Medlock’s commitment, the job status of Miami head coach Manny Diaz could potentially play a factor. The Hurricanes started the season 2-4, but have rebounded to a 6-5 record heading into this weekend’s game against Duke. Miami recently fired athletic director Blake James, which could have possible implications on Diaz’s job status.
