2024 EDGE Kash Dillon commits to Utah: 'It was always one of my top schools'
Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon 2024 three-star EDGE Kash Dillon amassed more than a dozen offers over the past two years as one of the top prospects in the state. But one program was the first to believe him in as a Power Five football prospect, and that was the in-state program, Utah.
On Saturday, Dillon’s recruitment came full circle as he committed to Kyle Whittingham and Co. over BYU, Arizona, Arizona State and Washington.
As a recruit, Dillon has been on the campus in Salt Lake City nearly a dozen times. He’s taken an official visit, multiple unofficials and also been at a handful of games. The Utes have been one of his dream programs since he was a kid, and now he’ll get a chance to represent them.
“It being my dream school was part of it,” he said. “Utah was always one of the top schools. I’m from Utah, my mom went there and I cheered for them growing up. I always saw myself there. I fit in under the coaching staff very well. Utah just felt the most like my high school, and it fit me and my personality.
Dillon likes what Kyle Whittingham has built at Utah
On top of his affinity for the university and the connections he has there, Dillon is excited about being coached by the staff there and developed. The success the Utes have had as a team, but also their players individually, was unmatched by any other school in his recruitment.

“What made them different is how they have used and developed guys at my position,” he said. “They put out EDGE players to the NFL, and the scheme fits me too. It is a family there, it’s also business. They get to work, and I love the grind. I love how they do it — they work hard, it is straight business, and they go at it to be the best they can. I love that motto.”
Dillon has good relationships with the entire coaching staff, including defensive line coach Lewis Powell and defensive coordinator Morgan Scallie. He’ll also get to continue playing with some of his high school teammates, which was another bonus on top.
“It is dope to stay teammates with Isaac Wilson and Isaiah Garcia at Utah,” he said. “I am just getting to know Ike, but me and Isaac have talked about this for a long time. My dreams are coming true.”
