2025 safety Nathan Tilmon commits to Utah
Arlington (Texas) Mansfield Timberview three-star safety Nathan Tilmon has committed to Utah, he announced on Saturday afternoon.
He chose the Utes over Texas and TCU. Tilmon decommitted from SMU at the end of June.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder is the No. 958 overall prospect and No. 78 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 150 player in Texas.
On3 ranks Tilmon higher than other recruiting services. He checks in as the No. 34 safety in the nation and No. 70 player in Texas, per the 2025 On300.
Tilmon is commitment No. 18 for Kyle Whittingham and the Utah staff this cycle. The Utes’ class ranks No. 51 in the nation and No. 9 in the Big 12, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

After inking the No. 21 class two cycles ago, Whittingham and the Utes are searching for another big haul on the trail this time around. Two four-stars currently highlight the 2025 class in Spanish Fork (Utah) four-star offensive tackle Aaron Dunn and Las Vegas Arbor View four-star linebacker Christian Thatcher. Dunn, the No. 230 overall prospect and No. 2 player in Utah, pledged earlier this week on Aug. 8.
