Pinson (Ala.) Pinson Valley three-star EDGE B.J. Diakite has officially narrowed his search down to Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt and will sign his national Letter of Intent to one of those schools on Dec. 15.
Diakite announced the news Wednesday on Twitter.
Diakite is the No. 826 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He had been committed to the Commodores since March before decommitted from Vanderbilt on Nov. 2. The decision came after visiting the Yellow Jackets game the previous weekend.

“I always knew from a young age that if I worked my dream of playing college football would come true,” Diakite said at the time. “It has been rewarding to have coaches from colleges recognizing my hard work. I am thankful for all the coaches at Vandy that took time to recruit me and offer me a scholarship. During the last few months I have given my recruitment a lot of thought and I want to be sure I am making the best decision for me and my family and everything I want to become. I am announcing my de-commitment from Vanderbilt and opening my recruitment.”
Georgia Tech head coach Geoff Collins and defensive end/outside linebackers coach Marco Coleman have already made a visit to Diakite’s house Monday.
