2023 OT Barrett Maddox commits to Vanderbilt
Clinton (Tenn.) offensive tackle Barrett Maddox committed to Vanderbilt on Friday. He chose the Commodores over multiple programs, including Kansas and UCLA.
Maddox is not ranked in the 2023 On3 Consensus or the 2023 On300. He is 6-foot-6 and weighs 280 pounds.
Vanderbilt’s 2023 recruiting class now contains 16 commitments. The group ranks No. 55 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 14 in the SEC.
Rome (Ga.) four-star cornerback Martel Hight is the Commodores’ highest-rated recruit as the No. 365 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. He chose head coach Clark Lea and his staff on July 7.

Hight is the only four-star pledged to Vanderbilt, at the moment. The rest of the Commodores’ class consists of 14 three-stars and one unranked prospect.
Maddox is one of two offensive tackle prospects committed to Vanderbilt. The other is Birmingham (Ala.) Ramsay three-star Anthony Miles.
Seven other Commodores pledges are rated in the top-1,000 of the On3 Consensus. They include Fort Worth (Texas) North Crowley three-star tight end Ka’Morreun Pimpton, Mount Juliet (Tenn.) three-star linebacker Ethan Crisp, Tulsa (Okla.) Union three-star defensive lineman De’Marion Thomas and Nashville (Tenn.) CPA three-star wide receiver London Humphreys.
