West Monroe (La.) three-star safety Jadais Richard has committed to Vanderbilt, announcing the news Tuesday on Instagram Live.

Richard is the No. 461 overall recruit in the country, according to the 2022 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the nation’s 45th-best safety and 24th-best player from the state of Louisiana.

He joins a Vanderbilt recruiting class that has been on a hot streak in the days leading up to the early signing period. Acworth (Ga.) Kennesaw Mountain three-star safety Savion Riley, Richmond (Texas) George Ranch three-star safety Jeffrey Ugo has committed to Vanderbilt,  Canton (Ga.) Cherokee three-star quarterback AJ Swann and Baytown (Texas) Lee three-star wide receiver Trudell Berry have all committed to the Commodores.

Vanderbilt also has defensive back commits from Atlanta Hapeville Charter three-star cornerback Quantaves “Gumbo” Gaskins and Gaithersburg (Md.) Quince Orchard three-star safety Steven Sannieniola.

Jadais Richard was previously committed to TCU but backed away from that commitment after the Horned Frogs fired coach Gary Patterson.

He was one of many recruits to leave the Horned Frogs recruiting class after Patterson left, including Gladewater (Tex.) four-star wide receiver DJ Allen and Houston Klein Cain four-star wide receiver Matthew Golden.
