SEC Baseball: How all 16 teams are faring in midweek games this season

You can’t crack the field of 64 if you don’t excel on the weekends and in conference play, but taking care of business on Tuesdays and Wednesdays can become crucial if you find yourself on the hosting or general tournament bubble at the end of the regular season.
That hasn’t been an issue for much of the SEC, which went 14-2 on Tuesday night. The conference is now a whopping 117-21 in midweek action this season. Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Vanderbilt each remain unscathed as the second half of the campaign kicks into full gear.
Below is a look at how each SEC program is performing between the weekends thus far:
Alabama
Overall Record: 28-6 (7-5 SEC)
Midweek Record: 10-0
Notable Results: 3-1 win vs. Troy, 6-3 win at UAB, 11-9 win vs. Samford
The Crimson Tide remain perfect in the midweek following a 10-6 win over ranked C-USA foe Southern Miss on Tuesday night in Tuscaloosa.
Entering the week with the No. 9 RPI in the nation, Alabama has answered the bell against top mid-major competition around the state. Road wins at Jacksonville State and UAB set the tone early on as Rob Vaughn’s team jumped out to a 23-1 start this season.
Games at Samford and Troy highlight what’s left on Tuesday nights for superstar shortstop Justin Lebron and the Tide, who’re currently in the race to land a top-16 overall seed and host a Regional this summer.
Arkansas
Overall Record: 31-3 (11-1 SEC)
Midweek Record: 8-1
Notable Results: 14-3 win vs. Grambling, 16-0 win vs. Oral Roberts, 14-13 loss vs. Missouri State
Competition has not been as stout for the Razorbacks during the midweek and they’ve pounded the ball to date, scoring nine runs or more in six of the nine games. The lone blemish came at the end of March in a 27-run collision against Missouri State.
Arkansas will get a chance to exact revenge on the Bears when they travel to Springfield for a second Tuesday showdown on April 29.
Auburn
Overall Record: 23-10 (6-6 SEC)
Midweek Record: 7-2
Notable Results: 7-6 win vs. Troy, 6-5 loss at UAB, 9-8 win at Georgia Tech
Auburn put together a late flurry of offense on Tuesday night to get past Georgia Tech in Atlanta for an impressive ranked win on the road. That victory highlights what’s been a fantastic year for an Auburn team led by a staunch group of productive veterans and freshmen.
Road games at Jacksonville State and Samford, as well as a rematch against Georgia Tech on The Plains highlight what’s left on the midweek schedule for Auburn as it pushes to separate from the middle of the pack in the SEC. UAB is responsible for both of its midweek defeats, winning once in Birmingham and once in Auburn.
Florida
Overall Record: 21-14 (1-11 SEC)
Midweek Record: 9-2
Notable Results: 13-3 loss at UCF, 7-2 win at Florida State, 5-4 win vs. Florida State
The 2025 season may be a rotten one for the Florida Gators, but it found a way against rival Florida State on Tuesday night, defeating the Seminoles 5-4 to win the three-game season series. Brendan Lawson laced a three-run home run and had four RBIs in the victory.
The Gators now have the No. 32 RPI nationally and do own midweek road wins over Jacksonville, Stetson and FSU. As they grasp for a last-ditch revitalization in the SEC, they’ll play three more midweek games against Stetson, Georgia Southern and USF.
Georgia
Overall Record: 30-5 (8-4 SEC)
Midweek Record: 8-0
Notable Results: 7-3 win at Georgia State, 8-6 win vs. ETSU, 21-1 win vs. Queens
The first month of the season was filled with rollercoaster wins for Georgia and that was no different against lower competition during the midweek. The Bulldogs often relinquished early leads and had to hit their way to wins late.
As the pitching has started to come around, that’s been remedied some, but the Bulldogs continue to mash the ball regardless. To no surprise, the team that leads the nation in home runs is doing some serious damage to Tuesday arms.
Two massive midweek games are on the docket for UGA, as it’ll take on Georgia Tech inside Truist Park on April 15, then face Clemson on the road on April 22.
Kentucky
Overall Record: 18-12 (5-7 SEC)
Midweek Record: 4-3
Notable Results: 24-3 win vs. Evansville, 16-0 win at EKU, 4-3 loss at Louisville
Kentucky is just a few plays away from a top-25 ranking and a much higher standing in the SEC. The Wildcats let another tight one get away on Tuesday night, losing 4-3 in 10 innings at ranked rival Louisville.
UK is now the only team in the SEC to lose three midweek games this season. Before the loss to the Cardinals this week, it previously fell to Murray State and Xavier and is now amidst a 5-10 stretch at a crucial point in the year.
A rematch against Louisville in Lexington and a trip to potential Regional team Western Kentucky highlight what’s left on the midweek schedule for Nick Mingione and Co.
LSU
Overall Record: 31-3 (10-2 SEC)
Midweek Record: 10-0
Notable Results: 7-3 win at Dallas Baptist, 17-4 win vs. Louisiana, 5-3 win at Nicholls
Jay Johnson’s Tigers are not playing with their food, averaging more than 12 runs per game in the midweek. A huge four-run win at Globe Life Field over Dallas Baptist ahead of the third weekend of the season highlights the victories to date.
They travelled to in-state Nicholls this week and slid past the Colonels 5-3. LSU still has four home midweek games to go against in-state mid-majors McNeese, Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana and Grambling.
Mississippi State
Overall Record: 20-13 (3-9 SEC)
Midweek Record: 7-2
Notable Results: 18-3 win vs. Southern Miss, 5-3 win at Memphis, 8-3 win at UAB
After dropping its first two midweek games of the season against Southern Miss and Troy, Mississippi State has responded with seven wins in a row. It went to Birmingham and rolled over UAB on Tuesday night, one week after picking up a road win over Memphis. Two-way player Noah Sullivan has emerged as the MSU opener and continues to produce at the plate.
The Bulldogs are struggling mightily in the SEC, but their midweek résumé is just about as good as anyone’s in the conference. The neutral battle against Ole Miss in Pearl, Miss. is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22.
Missouri
Overall Record: 12-21 (0-12 SEC)
Midweek Record: 5-1
Notable Results: 7-1 loss at UCF, 11-9 win at Illinois, 25-10 win vs. Arkansas Pine Bluff
The non-conference schedule for Missouri featured a pair of tournaments, two four-game series and a cancellation, so the Tigers have only played six midweek games this season, the least of any team in the SEC.
After losing at UCF in the fourth game of the season, Mizzou has rebounded well between in-conference beatdowns. It won in Sauget over Illinois at the end of March and then went to SIU Edwardsville and beat the Cougars 11-8 on Tuesday night.

It’s been a nightmare season for head coach Kerrick Jackson and his team. Two games against Missouri State and a pair against Kansas make up the rest of the midweek slate.
Oklahoma
Overall Record: 23-9 (5-7 SEC)
Midweek Record: 6-2
Notable Results: 11-0 loss at Dallas Baptist, 8-6 win at Texas Tech, 9-1 loss vs. Dallas Baptist
Dallas Baptist has the Sooners’ number this season. The Patriots stormed past OU on Tuesday night in Norman, just over a month after they beat it by 11 runs in Dallas. Otherwise, Skip Johnson’s team has taken care of business, headlined by a neutral win over Texas Tech and a road win over Oral Roberts.
Bedlam is up next, as Oklahoma heads to Stillwater to take on Oklahoma State on April 15. The Sooners are looking to shake off a 2-6 skid that has them 10th in the SEC entering the halfway mark of conference play.
Ole Miss
Overall Record: 25-7 (8-4 SEC)
Midweek Record: 6-2
Notable Results: 15-8 win vs. Southern Miss, 14-5 loss at South Alabama, 10-0 win at Memphis
Ole Miss got its first road midweek win of the season on Tuesday, run-ruling Memphis 10-0. Right fielder Ryan Moerman ripped a pair of doubles and drove in three runs, while left-hander Gunnar Dennis fired four scoreless innings, striking out five.
South Alabama and Southern Miss account for the Rebels’ defeats thus far. Ole Miss is the lone SEC team to play a pair of midweek games this week, as they return to Oxford and host Alcorn State on Wednesday night.
Ole Miss will be the home team when it takes on Mississippi State in Pearl later this month.
South Carolina
Overall Record: 20-14 (2-10 SEC)
Midweek Record: 9-1
Notable Results: 5-3 win at Winthrop, 7-1 win vs. Georgia State, 13-8 loss vs. North Carolina
While conference play has been a challenge for South Carolina under new head coach Paul Mainieri, the Gamecocks have had smooth midweek outings all season, barring a neutral-field loss to ACC power North Carolina two weeks ago.
In its nine midweek wins, South Carolina has allowed just 21 total runs As star slugger Ethan Petry and USC look to turn things around in the SEC, they’ll play four more midweek games at home this season, closing with a rematch against Winthrop at Founders Park on May 13.
Tennessee
Overall Record: 29-4 (9-3 SEC)
Midweek Record: 8-1
Notable Results: 29-4 win vs. UNC Asheville, 13-1 win vs. Xavier, 7-6 loss vs. ETSU
Tennessee has not played a tough midweek schedule, but it has done some serious damage to those who have made their way to Lindsey-Nelson Stadium this season. The Vols piled on 58 runs across their first three Tuesday-night matchups of the season.
Touted right-hander AJ Russell is finally back on the mound and worked a clean pair of innings on Tuesday against Alabama State. Head coach Tony Vitello continues to look for additional pieces that could emerge as real contributors on weekends down the stretch as Tennessee aims to defend its College World Series title in Omaha this summer.
Bellarmine, Lipscomb, Northern Kentucky, Indiana State and Belmont remain on the midweek schedule.
Texas
Overall Record: 27-4 (11-1 SEC)
Midweek Record: 4-2
Notable Results: 15-5 win vs. TAMCC, 7-4 win vs. UT Arlington, 8-7 loss vs. UTSA
UTSA and Texas State in the midweek account for half of the Longhorns’ defeats thus far. They picked up a 12-2 win over Houston Christian on Tuesday night, with elite second baseman Ethan Mendoza driving in five runs.
Jim Schlossnagle’s group is well on its way to hosting a Regional in Austin, regardless of its record on Tuesdays, though. As they hunt for an SEC title, they’ll also get a shot at revenge against Texas State in San Marcos on April 22.
Texas A&M
Overall Record: 17-15 (3-9 SEC)
Midweek Record: 6-2
Notable Results: 7-3 loss vs. Texas State, 21-1 win vs. Incarnate Word, 14-1 win vs. Sam Houston
Some early troubles resulted in losses to Texas State and UTSA for the Aggies, too. Not much has gone right for Texas A&M this season, though it has now won six consecutive midweeks following a 14-1 thumping of Sam Houston on Saturday.
A&M has a three-game winning streak for just the third time all season and is finally looking to piece together some momentum in hopes of clawing its way into meaningful postseason action. A road bout at Houston on May 6 highlights what’s left on the non-SEC schedule for Michael Earley and Co.
Vanderbilt
Overall Record: 25-8 (7-5 SEC)
Midweek Record: 9-0
Notable Results: 14-1 win vs. St. Bonaventure, 13-2 win vs. Belmont, 5-4 win vs. WKU
Vandy spend its fair share of time away from home to begin the season, so it hasn’t played a midweek game away from home and it won’t until they head to Louisville for a big clash at the end of the regular season on May 6.
The Commodores smushed Dayton 9-2 on Tuesday and are now averaging over nine runs per game across the nine wins. Even more impressively, Vandy pitching has allowed just 15 total tuns across the nine games. Matchups against Lipscomb, Middle Tennessee and Indiana State precede the battle at Louisville.
