Vanderbilt offers 4-star safety CJ Heard
Vanderbilt has extended an offer to Atlanta Woodward Academy four-star safety CJ Heard.
He is the No. 289 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $19.6k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

The Commodores have zero commits in their 2024 recruiting class, but four verbals in the 2023 class. Mount Juliet (Tenn.) three-star linebacker Ethan Crisp leads the 2023 group, which is ranked 45th in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.
CJ Heard caught up with On3’s Jeremy Johnson after two visits to Florida State and Florida A&M last month.
“Why not take an official visit to an HBCU and get the best of both worlds,” Heard said. “Them building a relationship me and recruiting me, I get to see both sides. Power Fives you get to be on T.V. and all of the clout. At the HBCU level, you can do the same thing. FAMU has a safety Markquese Bell that’s projected to go high in the draft.”
