Brothers Dominique and Marcus McKenzie commit to Virginia
St. George (Utah) Pine View three-stars and twin brothers Dominique and Marcus McKenzie committed to Virginia on Wednesday.

Don’t expect the McKenzie brothers on campus right away
The McKenzie brothers intend to go on a two-year mission trip after graduating high school.
The service trip would push their start date at Virginia back two years and will be included as 2024 recruits when it’s all said and done.
Bronco Mendenhall served as the head coach at BYU for over a decade before arriving in Charlottesville. As a result, he is well-versed and understanding of players who go on mission trips.
The two are not the first commits to the Cavs to delay their enrollment to go on a service trip.
The McKenzie brothers aren’t even the only Virginia commits graduating with the class of 2022 to delay enrollment for that reason. Three-star offensive lineman Joe Brown from American Fork (Utah) Lone Peak is also going on a service trip.

How Virginia’s recruiting class looks
There are now 14 commits in Virginia’s 2022 recruiting class. But with Brown and the McKenzie going on mission trips, only 11 of them will be enrolling next year.
There are no On300 members in the class but there is plenty of quality talent in the group, including Mooresboro (N.C) Thomas Jefferson Class Academy wide receiver Dakota Tweety and Bluefield (Va.) Graham offensive tackle Brody Meadows.
