Lanham (Md.) Mt. Zion Prep three-star cornerback Christopher Spence has committed to the Virginia Cavaliers, he announced on social media.

Spence is the nation’s No. 462 overall prospect and No. 51 cornerback in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 14 recruit in Maryland.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Spence holds offers from a number of other Power 4 programs, such as Florida State, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Ole Miss and South Carolina.

Spence is the fifth prospect to join Virginia’s 2025 recruiting class, and is the highest-rated recruit in the group. Washington (D.C.) Maret three-star interior offensive lineman Grayson Reid also pledged to the Cavaliers earlier this month.

Each of Virginia’s 2025 commitments have come since the final week of November last year. Richmond (Va.) Trinity Episcopal three-star wide receiver Isaiah Robinson is joined by Nashville Lipscomb three-star IOL Jon Adair and Deerfield (Mass.) Academy three-star quarterback Cole Geer.

UVA’s 2024 recruiting class finished with just 14 signees, ranking No. 78 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The class is without a blue-chip prospect, but is highlighted by defense, as six of the seven highest-ranked signees are on the defensive side of the ball.

Roswell (Ga.) three-star EDGE Chase Morrison is the top signee in the class, checking in as the No. 881 overall recruit and No. 73 EDGE in the cycle. Other top players heading to Charlottesville include Windermere (Fla.) Prep three-star defensive lineman Tyler Simmons, Atlanta Creekside three-star cornerback Kevon Gray and Burke (Va.) Lake Braddock three-star offensive tackle Benjamin York.
