Kentucky transfer OL Wallace Unamba spent the last few months in the Bluegrass after originally transferring in the Winter. Now, after entering the portal again last week during the Spring cycle, Unamba has already decided on the next program he’ll play for.

Unamba has signed with Virginia out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, according On3’s Pete Nakos.

Unamba originally committed to the Wildcats back in mid-December after a five-year collegiate career with a season at New Mexico, a season at Florida Atlantic, and three seasons at Kilgore Community College. That includes last season where, in 10 games with the Lobos where he started at right tackle, allowed no sacks. He also, while at Kilgore, became a two-time selection as a NJCAA All-American as he didn’t allow any sacks there either.

With that, Unamba would come in as one of several transactions in the portal for UK. Several of those, like him, were to rework their offensive line with Unamba projecting as a depth piece who they actually had changed positions for him from tackle to guard, with some snaps still at tackle, on their second unit per coverage by KSR’s Adam Luckett.

Now, since the spring window opened on Wednesday, Kentucky has lost eight players to this point. Unamaba is the first to have committed elsewhere with other entires from CB Jiquavious Marshall plus offensive lineman in Daniel Mincey, Marc Nave, and Anfernee Crease as well as defensive lineman with Kendrick GilbertDarrion Henry-Young, and Dennious Jackson.

Virginia has now added a trio of players since the end of this last week during the latest portal cycle. They earned commitments from Unamba and RB Isaiah Augustave (Colorado, Arkansas) on Sunday after getting one from DB Jordan Robinson (Cincinnati, Kentucky) on Friday. They now make up 22 additions by transfer this offseason for the Cavaliers, with it currently being the No. 31 class per On3’s 2025 Team Transfer Portal Rankings, for next season in Charlottesville.
