There is some good news recently reported for Virginia running back Mike Hollins. According to The Athletics David Ubben, Hollins could be discharged from the hospital as soon as this week or early next week. On top of that, the Baton Rouge native plans to rejoin his Cavaliers teammates once released from the hospital and back on campus.

His father, Mike Hollins Sr., was the one who provided the statement on his son as he recovers from the shooting that happened earlier in the week on campus. That tragic event claimed the lives of three of Hollins’ teammates: D’Sean PerryDevin Chandler and Lavel Davis. His father also explained that his son’s reason for going back to playing football is “he is doing it for them,” his fallen teammates, and “not himself.” Hollins Sr. Also said his son could be back to 100-percent in two to three months time.
