Radford (Va.) three-star wide receiver Marcell Baylor has committed to Virginia Tech, announcing the news Tuesday on social media.

Baylor is the No. 625 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

“Football. It is such a blessing to myself and to my family that I received this unbelievable opportunity. I would like to thank all of my family, and friends a long the way for helping me get to where I am today” Baylor tweeted. “I am so eager to start this new chapter in my life, and see where VT takes me. This is home.”

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.9k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Baylor is the sixth commit in the 2023 class for the Hokies, which ranks 44th in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.

He is the second commit to the Hokies in three days after Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic three-star athlete Dante Lovett announced his commitment Sunday.

“When I got there it felt like home,” Lovett told On3. “It’s a place where I can see myself going and becoming a better man on and off the field. I have a lot of connections that went there.”
