Culpepper (Va.) Eastern View four-star linebacker Brett Clatterbaugh has committed to Virginia Tech, he announced on Saturday.

He chose the in-state Hokies over Clemson, Penn State, Georgia and Notre Dame.

Clatterbaugh is the No. 328 overall prospect and No. 37 LB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 7 player in Virginia.

The 6-foot-2, 245-pounder is now the fifth member of Brent Pry’s pledge list this cycle. He is the highest-ranked commit in the class and joins Virginia Beach (Va.) Green Run three-star wide receiver Jayden Anderson, Christiansburg (Va.) three-star offensive tackle Carter Stallard, Keller (Texas) DeSoto three-star quarterback Kelden Ryan and Virginia Beach Green Run cornerback Knahlij Harrell.

Hokies looking to build off improved 2024 recruiting class

For the first time since the 2019, Va Tech finished with a recruiting class ranked inside the top 40 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The Hokies signed 16 prospects in the 2024 cycle, compiling the No. 31 class in the nation.
