Charleston transfer Ben Burnham commits to Virginia Tech

Charleston forward Ben Burnham has committed to Virginia Tech out of the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on his Instagram account.
Burnham is a 6-foot-7 junior who has spent the last three seasons at the College of Charleston. He helped lead his team to an NCAA Tournament appearance this year as the CAA champions.
The talented frontcourt prospect averaged 11.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while working for the Cougars in the paint, starting all 35 of his team’s games.
Burnham has spent time both as a starter and as a reserve off the bench. he started 26 games as a freshman in 2021-22, then came off the bench for all 35 of his appearances as a sophomore. Then he once again became a full-time starter as a junior.
He will give the Hokies some real flexibility, a stretch four with some shooting range. Burnham hits a career 38.2% from beyond the 3-point arc on a decent volume of shots.
Virginia Tech has undergone some significant roster changes already this offseason, but Ben Burnham’s addition should help.
Virginia Tech’s Sean Pedulla enters the transfer portal
Virginia Tech guard Sean Pedulla plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on his Twitter account last week.

Pedulla noted that while he will be in the transfer portal, he will also be “strongly considering a return to Virginia Tech” for his last season of eligibility.
The 6-foot-1 guard averaged a career best 16.4 points per game during the 2023-24 season. He also chipped in 4.6 assists and 4.3 rebounds, a well-rounded player and the heart and soul of the Hokies.
In three seasons at Virginia Tech, Pedulla has played in 102 games, while starting 66 of them. He is a career 35.5% 3-point shooter.
Sean Pedulla isn’t the only Hokies player who put his name into the transfer portal. Early last week a pair of other players did in center Lynn Kidd and forward John Camden.
