Virginia Tech guard Sean Pedulla plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Virginia Tech guard Sean Pedulla plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on his Twitter account on Wednesday morning.
Pedulla noted that while he will be in the transfer portal, he will also be “strongly considering a return to Virginia Tech” for his last season of eligibility.
The 6-foot-1 guard averaged a career best 16.4 points per game during the 2023-24 season. He also chipped in 4.6 assists and 4.3 rebounds, a well-rounded player and the heart and soul of the Hokies.
In three seasons at Virginia Tech, Pedulla has played in 102 games, while starting 66 of them. He is a career 35.5% 3-point shooter.
Pedulla had a monster start to ACC play earlier this season, scoring 32 points in a game against Clemson before going off for 33 in a game against Miami three days later. In the game against Miami, Pedulla actually tallied a double-double, pulling down 10 rebounds.
The backcourt talent finished his junior season in 2023-24 by scoring at least 25 points in six different games.

Virginia Tech loses two others to transfer portal
Sean Pedulla isn’t the only Hokies player who will put his name into the transfer portal. On Tuesday, a pair of players did: center Lynn Kidd and forward John Camden.
Kidd started all 33 games for the Hokies this season, averaging a career-high 13.2 points per game and a team-leading 6.5 rebounds per game in his third season at Virginia Tech. Standing at 6-foot-10, Kidd played center last season for the Hokies, transferring in from Clemson after spending his freshman season with the Tigers.
Year after year Kidd increased his production for Virginia Tech in nearly every stat category, averaging 0.7 points and 5.0 points per game in each season prior to his most recent breakout year. As he’ll now look for a third program to call home in his final college season.
Camden has come off the bench for the Hokies last two seasons, appearing in 37 career games for Virginia Tech where he’s averaged 1.4 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.
