On Thursday, Virginia Tech football revealed two sets of new uniforms for the 2024 campaign. The program initially planned to release photos of the fresh threads on Friday but released them on Thursday after the uniforms leaked from clips of “EA Sports College Football 25” gameplay.

Despite the early release, Hokies fans have plenty to be excited about both on the field and in the game in the upcoming season. EA Sports gave Virginia Tech an 87 overall rating, ranking No. 20 in the highly-anticipated game.

EA Sports assigned cornerback Dorian Strong a 91 overall rating, the highest of any Virginia Tech player and the seventh-highest rating in the ACC. In the 2023 campaign, Strong started in all 13 of the Hokies’ games, tallying 25 tackles, 11 passes defended and three interceptions.

Strong was just the second FBS cornerback since 2014 with 300+ coverage snaps that gave up less than 10 receptions and less than 100 yards receiving in a season. For his efforts, he was named a 2023 All-ACC Third-Team selection.

Virginia Tech finished last season with a 7-6 overall record and a 5-3 mark in conference play. The Hokies ended their season on a high note, defeating Tulane 41-20 in the Military Bowl. Now in his third season at the helm, head coach Brent Pry will look to push Virginia Tech to new heights.

EA has also announced the full breakdown of the standard and deluxe editions. Fans who purchase the $69.99 standard edition will receive the base game and a handful of Ultimate Team packs. Those who purchase the deluxe edition—priced at $99.99—will receive three-day early access and a slew of perks.

Every player in the game will receive $600 plus a copy of the game. Cover athletes and other college football stars who promote the game have inked endorsement deals with EA.

Over 12,800 athletes have opted into the game, which is significantly more than the number of roster slots. EA previously announced its goal of fielding an 85-man roster for every 134 FBS team.
