WATCH: Wake Forest's Cameron Hildreth puts ankle-breaking move on Duke defender
Wake Forest is on the road hunting for an elusive win at Cameron Indoor Stadium against Duke, and even if it comes away wanting for a win it’ll at least have an ankle-breaking move as a highlight from the game.
Working near the top of the 3-point line on the offensive end, the Demon Deacons set up a screen.
As Duke players switched off defensively, Blue Devils center Kyle Filipowski suddenly found himself switched onto the on-ball player. Wake Forest Cameron Hildreth had the ball and quickly saw he had the advantage.
And he pressed it, breaking Filipowski’s ankles in the process with a move to get to the rack. Check it out below.
Despite the ankle-breaking move, Duke maintained the lead at halftime, getting out to a 41-34 lead at the break.
Pacing Duke was guard Jeremy Roach, who scored 17 points in the first half on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor. He was the only Duke player in double-figures in the first half.
Wake Forest, meanwhile, was led in scoring by point guard Tyree Appleby. He finished the first half with 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting.

More on Wake Forest vs. Duke
Tuesday night’s contest will be the Blue Devils and Demon Deacons’ second meeting of the season, with the first ending in a 81-70 victory for Wake Forest at home in Winston-Salem. The previous matchup was highlighted by an excellent shooting performance by Wake Forest where they shot 49.1% from the field and 36.8% from three-point range.
The Demon Deacons still remain as one of the best shooting teams in the ACC, ranking third in the ACC in field goal percentage at 46.8%. They’re led by senior guard Tyree Appleby, whose 17.7 points per game rank first on the conference and 6.1 assists per game tie for first. He had an 18 point, eight assist game against the Blue Devils in their last matchup, and will likely be a key catalyst again in this one.
Wake Forest will be looking to bounce back from three straight losses, but Duke is fresh off of a dominant 86-43 performance against Georgia Tech. Center and leading scorer Kyle Filipowski had 18 points in the win, maintaining a seven-game stretch of scoring in double figures.
He had a disappointing nine-point performance in his last game against Wake Forest shooting 28.6% from the field, but guard Jaylen Blakes matched a career high with 17 points versus the Demon Deacons, and could give them problems again on Tuesday.
