Wake Forest's Efton Reid enters the NCAA Transfer Portal

Efton Reid has spent four seasons at three programs so far in college. He’ll now spend his fifth with a fourth program per the latest on him today.
Reid has again entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. That news comes per On3’s Pete Nakos on Monday.
Reid has spent his four collegiate seasons as a freshman at LSU, as a sophomore at Gonzaga, and as an upperclassman at Wake Forest. In that career over 118 games played, Reid has averaged 6.8 points (54.3% FG) and 5.1 rebounds per game. His best play has since come with the Demon Deacons the last two years in posting 9.2 points (54.7% FG), 7.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.1 blocks.
Reid is now the fifth player to transfer during this cycle from out of Winston-Salem. Ty-Laur Johnson, Davin Cosby, Parker Friedrichsen, and Churchill Abass have also entered their names into the portal. Friedrichsen has since committed to Davidson but, meanwhile, Wake has made no other additions themselves to the program.

Reid, a Richmond, Virginia native, played his high school basketball at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He was the No. 27 overall recruit there as a four-star prospect in the 2021 cycle. He also rated as the No. 4 center in the class and the No. 4 player out of the state of Florida. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. With that, he was the top-rated signee in the program’s final class, which rated in the Top-20 nationally, under Will Wade down in Baton Rouge.
Reid is an experienced big having played for three teams in a trio of leagues at all corners of the country now at the college level. That’ll make him a value to whoever could have interest in him as a player back in the transfer portal.
