Zach Keller, a 6-foot-10 power forward out of Littleton (Colo.) ThunderRidge has committed to Wake Forest basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.
Keller is the Demon Deacons’ first commitment of the class. They’re also targeting Jamarques Lawrence, among others.
Keller ultimately chose the Wake Forest Demon Deacons over Texas Tech, Utah, and TCU. He also received offers from Colorado, Arizona State, Illinois, Virginia Tech, among others.
Zach Keller on why he chose Wake Forest
“It feels like a family and it felt like home,” Keller said. “In the end, I just had a gut feeling that I wanted to go there. A lot of the players reached out to me and said they wanted to play with me, so I think that ultimately drew me over there.”
What was the coaching staff’s recruiting pitch to Keller?
“They would use me because they lose a four man this year,” Keller said. “So I would be a stretch four/three. They would use my versatility on the offensive and defensive end and my overall motor to keep their speed of play fast.”

What does Keller expect his role to be as a freshman?
“I definitely have to earn my minutes,” Keller said. “I just want to play some big minutes as a freshman, and be able to contribute to the team. We will be a young team but hopefully, we will be able to get Wake Forest back in the spotlight.”
How does Keller describe his game?
“I’m a versatile stretch four who can shoot, drive, and pass. I’m aggressive on offense and defense. I’m a great rebounder. I talk a lot, and I can be a leader on and off the court. I like to get involved with the community outside of basketball.”
What’s Keller most excited about once he steps foot on campus?
“Just overall getting better as a basketball player. There is a big difference between high school and college, so being able to grow physically, mentally, and overall basketball.”
