Yuma (Ariz.) Yuma Catholic athlete Jaxson Jones has committed to Washington. He announced the news on Sunday night.

Jones is not ranked in the 2024 On3 Consensus or the 2024 On300. He is 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds.

“After a good weekend @UW_Football and talks with my parents before this. We have made the very (careful) decision to commit! I am very grateful for this opportunity! Time to focus on getting better and perfecting my craft,” Jones wrote in a statement posted to social media.

Jones is the Huskies’ second commitment of the day. Henderson (Nev.) Liberty athlete Landon Bell committed to Washington shortly before Jones. The two are currently the only members of Washington’s 2024 recruiting class.

Like Bell, Jones was in attendance for the Huskies’ 39-28 upset win over No. 11 Michigan State. He chose Washington over Fresno State.

Regarding Washington’s 2023 recruiting class, the group ranks No. 31 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 4 in the Pac-12. It contains 19 commitments and is made up of four four-stars and 15 three-stars.

Each of the Huskies’ four-star pledges are top-300 prospects. The highest-rated recruit in the group is Lake Charles (La.) Lake Charles College Prep four-star cornerback Curley Reed, the No. 168 overall prospect and No. 19 cornerback in the 2023 On3 Consensus.

Jones has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
