Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic three-star EDGE Keona Wilhite announced on Sunday that he has decommitted from Washington and will request a release from his National Letter of Intent.

Wilhite committed to the Huskies in September over Arizona, UCLA, Oregon State and a handful of other programs, and he signed with the program in December.

However, after the departure of head coach Kalen DeBoer for Alabama, he is looking for a new home.

“Please respect the Decision I have made, After much discussion and pray with my family I have decided to decommit from UW I want to thank the UW community for all the Love and Support!” he wrote on Twitter. “With that said I am officially reopening my recruitment.”

Wilhite is the No. 627 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 54 EDGE and the No. 13 recruit in Arizona.

He is the fourth prospect to decommit from the Huskies since DeBoer’s departure. Four-star 2024 defensive lineman Dominic Kirks, who didn’t sign in December, decommitted earlier this week. And fellow four-star EDGE signee Noah Carter announced that he would be requesting a release from his Letter of Intent as well.

On top of that, 2025 four-star linebacker Zaydrius Rainey-Sale, who committed to the Huskies earlier this month, also decommitted a week after he pledged to the Washington.

The Huskies’ class is now down to just 13 signees and commitments, ranking No. 36 nationally in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
