2024 safety Rahim Wright flips from Arizona to Washington
Upland (Calif.) Rancho Cucamonga three-star safety Rahim Wright has committed to Washington. He chose the Huskies after decommitting from Arizona just a couple of hours prior on Monday.
He pledged to the Wildcats on Oct. 6 and signed during the December Early Signing Period, but will now follow head coach Jedd Fisch to Seattle.
Wright is the No. 991 overall prospect and No. 101 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 68 player in California.
Arizona’s 2024 class is the latest to feel the effects of losing its head coach. With Wright’s departure, new skipper Brent Brennan and the Wildcats’ class now ranks just No. 55 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Other Wildcat signees have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, including Chandler (Ariz.) Basha four-star quarterback Demond Williams Jr., the top-ranked prospect in the class. Williams has also committed to Washington to follow Fisch.
“Just the family feel that was brought over from Arizona and the familiarity with the coaching staff, plus the countless opportunities in Seattle is what ultimately helped me make the decision,” Williams told On3’s Hayes Fawcett upon committing to the Huskies.
