Graham (Wash.) Graham-Kapowsin offensive lineman Vega Ioane has decommitted from Washington, he announced on Sunday.

Ioane is the No. 526 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 42 interior offensive lineman and the No. 9 prospect in Washington.

“I appreciate the coaches at UW for the love shown throughout the years and for providing me with opportunity to do great things,” Ioane wrote on Twitter. “But with careful consideration, long talks and prayers with my family, I will be re-opening my recruitment back up 100%.”

Vega Ioane commmitted to the Huskies under previous coach Jimmy Lake in June over a dozen other offers. Following Lake’s firing, Minnesota made a big push for Ioane, and he visited the Gophers this weekend.

Washington now had just six prospects committed for 2022, and the Huskies’ class dropped seven spots to No. 47 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
