4-star wide receiver Germie Bernard not expected to enroll at Washington
Henderson (Nev.) Liberty wide receiver Germie Bernard signed with Washington last month, but a coaching change has upended his plans.
According to a report from 247Sports, Bernard will ask for and receive a release from his National Letter of Intent and is expected to enroll at a new school before the spring semester begins.
Bernard is the No. 223 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 36 wide receiver and the No. 5 prospect in Nevada.
He is the Huskies’ second-highest ranked signee in the 2022 class. He is one of just three four-star prospects to ink with Washington after the team’s coaching change.

Bernard chose the Huskies over offers from Penn State, Michigan, Oregon, Miami and others. He committed to Washington’s previous staff under head coach Jimmy Lake in July. And he later signed with the team on the first day of the Early Signing Period.
His position coach, Junior Adams, was retained by new head coach Kalen DeBoer, but news broke earlier this week that he would be taking the same position at Oregon.
