Indiana transfer forward Bryson Tucker commits to Washington

Former Indiana forward Bryson Tucker has committed to Washington, via the NCAA Transfer Portal. Tucker only spent one season with the Hoosiers.
In his lone campaign in Bloomington, Tucker made 23 appearances. He averaged 5.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 16.6 minutes per game. The 6-foot-7 freshman shot 37.8% from the field and 15.0% from beyond the arc.
Tucker had his best performance of the season in Indiana’s 82-67 win over Minnesota. In the victory, Tucker tallied 16 points and six rebounds while shooting 6-10 from the floor.
Tucker played high school basketball at Bishop O’Connell (MD), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 20 overall player and No. 7 small forward in the 2024 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Tucker helped lead USA Basketball to a gold medal in the 2021 FIBA Americas Championship, averaging 9.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in the tournament. He was a 2024 McDonald’s All-American. On3 senior national recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw raved about Tucker’s talents in high school.
“Simply put, Bryson Tucker is a basketball player,” Shaw wrote in 2022. “He has great size to go with a natural basketball IQ. Nothing in his game seems to ever be rushed; he plays at his own pace. He understands change of pace, and he makes good decisions with the ball.

“He is good on the ball in the half-court, makes solid decisions, and doesn’t put the ball in trouble off the bounce. Tucker has good length, and he is a good athlete. He can make shots with a confident pull-up. Tucker’s dad, Byron, is 6-10 and scored over 1,000 points at NC State/George Mason.”
Tucker is the fourth player Washington has added via the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason. As of this report, Washington boasts the No. 8 transfer class in On3’s 2025 Team Transfer Portal Rankings. Washington has lost seven players to the transfer portal thus far.
The Huskies posted a 13-18 overall record and a 4-16 mark in conference play this past season. It was the program’s first year under head coach Danny Sprinkle. Now, with a revamped roster, Sprinkle will look to help his Huskies take a massive step forward in his second season at the helm.
