Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. took to the Seattle area over the holidays for a wonderful partnership with Amazon Same-Day Delivery.

“Whether it’s preparing for the big game, or enjoying Thursday Night Football, my Prime membership is a key part of my everyday routine,” Penix Jr. said. “That’s why I was so excited to help Amazon celebrate the delivery of its one-billionth package from dedicated Amazon Same-Day Delivery sites in the U.S.”

As Penix Jr. traveled the Seattle area, he delivered gifts to many different fans, including children and other hard working employees who felt a little more fortunate to see the Huskies’ quarterback.

“It’s really uplifting and humbling for me to see,” Penix Jr. said. “I’m blessed to be in a position where I can be part of somebody’s joyous moments. It means a lot to me and it’s just a constant reminder to me of how blessed I have been and how thankful I am to be in the position where I can be of help to others.”

As far as the lucky fans who got to see Penix Jr. in person, the quarterback wanted to make their holiday’s special.

“I really wanted to make sure that we were able to make the surprise deliveries to a few deserving kids who love football as much as I do which is why I worked with Amazon to identify two lucky Prime members who are big fans of mine and whom I have met before through various college football events for the local Seattle community,” Penix Jr. said. “I made surprise deliveries to Emerson and his older brother Elliot.

“They are a part of the local Seattle community and funny enough, they’ve also met with some of my teammates before. I also made a surprise delivery to Mason who is a huge fan and also within the local community. It was such a rewarding experience to be able to celebrate this delivery milestone with these kids!”

As far as Penix Jr. putting it all into perspective, it gave him a new outlook at things outside of football. Particularly with the College Football Playoff at the Sugar Bowl coming Monday night against Texas.

“During football season much of my focus and attention are concentrated on football, but having this unique opportunity to celebrate Amazon’s Billionth package delivered from a Same-Day site is a moment that I will always remember and something that catches you in the moment and made me realize how special this journey that I’m on has been,” Penix Jr. said.

“I always dreamed of getting to the NFL but honestly never dreamed of being able to partner with a company as great as Amazon and doing so for such a unique and important milestone.”
